DH Series Controls

Accent provides the widest range of refrigerant dehumidifiers for the residential and commercial pool industry. The Accent DH Series is has been designed to meet the vigorous requirements of pool enclosures in humidity control.

The Accent DH Dehumidifier is a self-contained, closed loop heat recovery unit. It is completely asembled, piped, wired and factory tested.

Dehumidifier Operation

In the dehumidification process, heat is transferred from the room air to the refrigerant as it passes through the evaporator coil. Having been cooled below its dew point, moisture will condense on the coil. The resulting heat generated by this condensation process is absorbed by the mechanical refrigeration system along with the power consumption of the compressor, and given up as sensible heat to be distributed as required.

The energy recovered is used to heat the air, which helps to maintain the room temperature during cooler months and reduce evaporation and humidity levels. The dehumidifier is controlled by humidity and air temperature and operates automatically as determined by room conditions.

Optional Pool Heat Recovery

At times that the latent heat absorbed by the dehumidifier is not required for air heating, this energy can be transferred to the pool via a pool condenser in-built to the dehumidifier.

The plumbing of the pool system would allow for the continual flow of pool water to the dehumidifier (at the pool condenser).

Optional Remote Condenser (Air)

At times that the latent energy is not required for transfer to the air or pool water heating load, this is optimally transferred to a remote condenser and exhausted outside.

The Accent remote condenser is shown as horizontal discharge unit, suitable for indoor or outdoor installation.

Total design flexibility

Accent offers total flexibility in unit design and each unit is custom-manufactured to maximise on-site efficiency and comfort levels. This flexibility is reflected in the design of the remote condensers (as pictured) as either horizontal or end discharge.

The end discharge unit features a centrifugal fan, which allowed the pool heat pump and condenser to be mounted above on another in a compact plant room. Likewise, centrifugal fans will deal better with high external static pressure in air discharge.

The remote condenser shown above features a centrifugal fan and end discharge.

DH Series Controls

The typical full function DH Series Models includes four digital controllers on the external case of the unit.

1st Controller - HUMIDIFIER

This controller controls the relative humidity in the pool room through the operation of the compressor in the dehumidifier. When the compressor runs, moisture is removed from the air passing across the evaporator.

The target humidity set point is shown by pressing the F1 button. This would typically be set to a relative humidity of between 55% to 60%.

The displayed number on the controller is the current relative humidity level in the pool room.

2nd Controller - F1 REHEAT

This controller controls the air-side heating function of the dehumidifier.

The unit will provide heating to the room from the latent energy captured at the evaporator coil whenever the air temperature is below the set point temperature. The temperature displayed on the F1 controller is the current room temperature.

Pressing the F1 button once, will display the set point temperature. The set point is raised or lowered by use of the up and down arrows while the set point temperature flashes in the display.

If the red light is shown adjacent to the F1 button, then the unit is calling for heating.

Reheat takes priority for available energy captured at the coil.

2nd Controller - F2 ELEMENT

This second level mechanism controls the operation of the element reheat in the dehumidifier. The element heater will operate if the room temperature falls 2the operation of the element reheat in the dehumidifier. The in-line duct element heater will operate if the room temperature falls 2°C below the room set point.

3rd Controller - POOL

This controller sets the parameters for the operation of the pool reheat condenser. When the air in the room is at temperature, the captured latent energy is available for transfer to the pool via the pool condenser.

The figure displayed on the controller is the current pool water temperature. Pressing the SET button once, will display the temperature up to which this heat transfer will occur.

Heating provided to the pool by the pool condenser is heat recovery only and incurs no energy input to the dehumidifier.

4th Controller - COOL

This controller sets the parameters for air cooling to the pool room in summer months.
